Saturday, September 26, 2009 marked the official launch of Broth Brothers in Calgary.

Thirty men took their turn in the kitchen preparing five different kinds of soup for The Doorway, as well as a gourmet soup for the group to enjoy under the training and supervision of acclaimed chef and SAIT instructor, Michael Allemeier. More than 200 servings of delicious, nutritious homemade soups were made, flash frozen and delivered to The Doorway Monday morning.

The Doorway assists teens and young adults from the ages of 17-24 who have made the choice to transition from street culture into mainstream society. Broth Brothers will offer delicious soup as a simple gift to nourish, warm and help fill the empty spaces in their lives, both physically and emotionally. It is our hope that the availability of a nurturing, fulfilling bowl of soup made by caring adults from their city will assist these deserving young people on the path toward believing in themselves and imagining new possibilities for their future.

Broth Brothers encourages group bookings of all kinds from corporate groups to couples nights, family events, private parties, etc. The possibilities are endless and require only a commitment by the group to make the very best soups they can for our recipients at The Doorway.
